Winded but worth it I Hope

It is 2:47am at the moment.  After putting in a full day of work, I came home and
laid sod for 2 hours and went back to work until 1:00am.  I had this "story" in
mind all day and wanted to share it so here I am writing when I should be
sleeping.

This story really started several months ago in Port-au-Prince airport waiting (as
usual) on a plane to take me home.  On the TV was CNN (constant negative
news - my pet name) as usual.  There was an interview with a well known TV
preacher whose name has something to do with American currency - Dollar
comes to mind.  I sat up as I was interested on what CNN was doing interviewing
him.  I soon had my answer.  This man of GOD (*tongue in cheek) said, "This
man, JESUS, came so that we can have great wealth".  I was instantly enraged
and I was not alone as a man stood up, shook his fist at him and yelled "NO!".
How I wanted to reach out and touch this "man of GOD" but, TV just does not
work that way.  How disrespectful to our LORD not to mention to lie in HIS
name!!!  I would challenge this - person - to a debate and it is safe to say that
this, non-credentialed, non-scholarship totin', redneck could wipe the floor with
him in said debate.  I would just get myself in more trouble with the religious
establishment (more than I already am) if I were to call him out and, if you know
me, I would.  Unfortunately, this - person - is the state of the church today.  All
over the TV, radio and from pulpits coast to coast it is all about prosperity -
riches on earth.  I was subjected to one “teacher” that said there was three ways
to give.  You can give to the poor, middle class or rich.  "Never give to the poor,
they can't pay you back."  WHAT!!!  Yep, right from the pulpit and he made
thousands that night getting people to stand up with their $100 bills as an
offering to his ministry ("good soil" he said - manure is more like it).  I am glad to
say we gave $100 - but not to that fool.  Oh, you should never call a person a
fool, that is in the Bible.  When you fool that many people, he should wear the
badge.

Treasure, what is it, riches here on earth? HA!  Not according to "this man
JESUS"!  Today, it really hit home just how wrong this - person - is.  Today, a
deposit was made in our account that I would not trade $100,000,000 for (that is
one hundred million dollars!!!).  Today, a baby died in Beverly's arms.  He was
born eleven days ago and his twin brother died as did his mother (at birth I think
I do not know for sure but it is common in Haiti).  His brother died from tetanus
probably from an unclean instrument when the umbilical cord was cut (again, not
sure but he did die from tetanus).  Yesterday March 26, 2007 around 5:00pm,
this baby took a turn for the worse.  It was determined quickly he had tetanus
too.  Antibiotics were started to fight off the infection and Beverly took that baby
to her breast and began to storm the gates of hell for his life.  Beverly is a
mighty warrior and has no fear.  I shudder to think what happens to nearby
demons when Beverly begins her prayers and intersession.  They must shriek
from the daggers - Praise our living LORD, YAHSHUAH!!!  From day one upon
picking up this baby at a nearby village, Beverly set out to love and care for this
baby.  She is going to kill me for telling this but, she still lactates when a baby
cries.  This little boy just would not take a bottle so Beverly popped a breast in
his mouth and he caught on real quick.  As soon as he began to suckle, she
gave him a bottle.  This is not the first time she has done this and I am sure it will
not be the last - she is awesome!  Anyhow, Beverly spent the whole night
fighting for this little boy, barely five pounds, so small.  She loved him like a
mother would and she prayed for him all night.  I know for a fact Beverly would
not have been found napping during our LORD'S time of need!  She tried to
keep the baby hydrated and tried to get formula into him.  He was having severe
convulsions.  Beverly described them as being covered in charlie-horses.  I do
not know about you but that sounds painful.  She lay with him all night and I am
sure she did not sleep as she told me she did not.  Good news came in the
morning; he survived the night - Praise GOD!  He still had a chance.  Another
round of antibiotics, more fluid and Beverly tried to get formula into him but he
would not take it.  As I was talking to Beverly at lunch time I could hear the little
guy trying to drink.  It sounded so good to me - real good.  Beverly told me he
was not doing well and, to be honest, I already knew in my spirit, he was not
going to make it.  All I could do was encourage Beverly.  At 2:30pm today,
Beverly cried out to GOD how unfair it was.  She prayed to GOD for one of two
things; heal this baby or take him home - just stop the suffering.  Then, she
anointed his head, prayed one more time and, he breathed his last at 2:45pm
spending his last day in her loving arms.

This little boy was given a wonderful gift of love that most unwanted babies in
Haiti never experience.  Beverly was given a gift as well.  She is having a hard
time understanding it but, the day will come - in Glory - when this boy will tug on
her garment and say "thanks for loving me".  I only wish every unwanted child
could be given the love this baby was given.  I wish I could give them all to
Beverly as her love is so pure.  We often say "if we can save but one".  I think
we will change our thinking to, "if we can love but one".  Beverly was also
blessed by all of the people who visited her treating her as though she was his
mother.  Well, she was.  The nannies came up and cried with her.  Her Pastor
came and he cried.  Her best friend stayed with her and they cried together.
Beverly is so loved in Haiti.

I often wonder why it has been so hard on us.  My answer has been, we have to
pay the price.  Serving GOD and telling HIM you will do what ever it takes, can
take you to a cross and is not for the weak willed person.  I think this is why
people will not go into ministry.  There is a price to pay.  We have paid a high
price.  We have been apart or most of 8 months now.  We have been given
ultimatums by board members who threatened to quit - and did.  We have had
all kinds of promises made.  My favorite is, "when I make my first million, I am
going to bless you guys".  Write a $10 check for formula or diapers now, I think
to myself and chuckle, then hug the person and say, "thanks, GOD bless you."
This is my favorite because, we always ask for prayer and people like this think
support is money and if they can't give big, they give no money at all.  The
people who really support us, share in our rewards and, fortunately, not in our
hurts.  Imagine if everyone understood this one concept; you can share in the
rewards and not have to pay the price!   Unfortunately, religious persons behind
a lot of pulpits have taken this concept and say, "JESUS paid it all so you don't
have too.  All you have to do is ask him and HE will give you the desires of your
heart so - you can ask for riches and HE will give you riches.  Give to this
ministry and receive a 10, 50, 100 fold blessing".  My favorite here is, "GOD
wants to bless you like HE did David."  Bunk!  David would have given it all away
to see the LORD walk the earth with him, broke like the apostles.  YAHSHUAH
(JESUS) is the greatest treasure GOD ever gave and HIS mandate was, go,
preach the Gospel, seek ye first HIS Kingdom and your riches will be great in
Heaven!  In Revelation, there are rewards for many things like for instance,
there is a crown just for waiting on HIS return.  Nowhere in the entire Bible is
there a reward for driving an Escalade by a hungry person.  In the book of
James it says there is only one true religion, visiting the orphans and widows.
Take it up with GOD, HE said it!

Are you seeking riches here on earth?  You are surly missing out.
A Real Blessing
