Why Haiti?
There are many reasons but since space is limited; Haiti is the poorest nation in
the west and third poorest in the world. Her infant mortality rate is ridiculous.
Then, there is the matter of demographics. The closer to your ministry, the less
money is spent on mobilization of product, services and people. This money is
better spent on the great needs of Haiti and her children.
Why not take care of our own here in America?
This is the most often asked question. Admittedly, there are babies in need in
this country. That being admitted, their basic needs are met. In America, a
baby can be dropped off at a fire station or hospital - no questions asked - and
that baby will survive. In Haiti, sadly, this may not be the case.
So, you're their great white hope?
No, we have been broken from that thinking. There is way too much work to do
for one or two people. We have learned that you have to focus on one area or
you will be stretched in too many directions being rendered ineffective in all. We
are sold out to this cause to the point where we are selling everything to move to
Haiti to see this job get done. If, after spending all of our money, we save just
one, we will have accomplished something we can live with.
What's in it for you?
Nothing and everything. We will not draw a salary or make a dime doing this.
We believe that YAHWEH will provide what is needed for each day with some left
over. HE will not send us unless HE knows we will sell out. Our reward is to see
fewer babies suffer and die. If we save but one, mission accomplished.
Can I come for a mission trip?
Absolutely but, be prepared to be changed. There is such a peace in Haiti that
is seldom experienced in the states. There is also great beauty, when you look.
If you are interested in a visit, please contact us and we can make arrangements
for visits in the near future. We have not closed on the mission house yet.
When we own it, we will be going over with groups.
Sold out, what does that mean?
He (YAHSHUA) chose the long, hard trail and held to it, though His feet were
bleeding and His heart was breaking. Far off He saw the cross in its agony and
shame and ridicule, and He set His face steadfastly towards Jerusalem. Nothing
could divert Him nor break the steady power of His purpose, no tempting friends
nor cheering multitudes nor bitter desertion nor betrayal. The great word in the
life of drift is "may", but the great word in the life of Christ is "must", and must is
the last triumph of the will. No man can share His spirit who lives on in aimless
indecision. Nobody can have His joy who shrinks from full surrender. The life of
drift never reaches harbor. It reaches the quicksand and the reef— from which
may God in His mercy save us all. Devotional Sermons, George H. Morrison
What can I do? I have no money but I would like to help.
If you want to do something huge to help there are 2 things we need.
1) Prayer and lots of it. It is free to you and we need it most of all. Everything
we have done, been able to do, or blessings we have received to this point has
been an answer to prayer.
2) Spread the word. Send this site to your friends and family. Tell them the
stories you hear and, most important, ask them to pray for us.
If you do these two things, this would mean more than any amount of money you
could give.
