We Believe.
We believe that there is one GOD, eternally existent in three persons - the
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe the Word of GOD, the Bible, to be divinely inspired and infallible.
We believe in the deity of the Lord JESUS CHRIST, His virgin birth, His sinless
life, His miracles, His atoning death through His shed Blood, His bodily
resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His soon
coming return in power and glory.
We believe we are saved by the shed Blood of the perfect Lamb of GOD -
JESUS, by proclaiming His innocence, defending Him, placing your faith in
Him, and by asking for forgiveness and entry into His Kingdom.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in CHRIST.
We believe that all believers are called into a life of separation from all worldly
and sinful practices.
We believe that good works are required of the redeemed and not evidence
of salvation.
We believe that the Great Commission is a mandate for every believer to go
and proclaim the gospel of JESUS CHRIST to all nations and then, His return.
We believe every person has a right to disagree with what we believe.
What we believe about giving
Dollar Store Mentality:
Maybe it is just us but, did you ever notice that dollar stores are everywhere
and we have yet to see one go out of business. Compare that to a woman’s
clothing store. In malls, they are opened and closed in a matter of months.
Another thing we have noticed is that almost everyone who walks in a dollar
store buys something. It seems that they just can’t help themselves. We
would venture to guess that the average person spends $5 when they walk
in. Compare that again to a woman’s clothing store. We will bet, just from
observation, 98% of people who walk in, walk out without spending a dime.
Dollar stores make a ton of money by people walking in and spending a few
dollars and women’s clothing stores go out of business hoping that women will
walk in with a fist full of credit cards.
We feel, for us, that fund raising is the same way. Sure, there are some
people who can write “the big one”. We are looking for the small donations in
large quantities. We feel that the small donation is just as important as the
large one. Ouch, did we just cut our throats? We do not think so.
Mar 12:41 And JESUS sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the
people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
Mar 12:42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites,
which make a farthing.
Mar 12:43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I
say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have
cast into the treasury:
Mar 12:44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did
cast in all that she had, even all her living.
Do not think that we believe a poor woman should give all her living. The
point is, the small amount was honored. That is the lesson for us so, we will
honor the small gift the same as the large. We prefer to have people be led
by the HOLY SPIRIT in their giving.
What else we believe about giving, four principles:
1. We believe that people should not be manipulated to give, especially from
the pulpit. Therefore, we will not speak about money or ask for money when
we speak from behind a pulpit. The motivation to give should be because of
the Grace of GOD and not because of an emotional experience.
2. Do not give to receive especially for the praise of and in front of men
(Matthew 6: 1 – 4). Seed giving is false giving. We will never promise you a
10, 50 or 100 fold return. GOD promises to reward a giver in His Fashion and
time. His promise is eternal in Heaven and not on earth where moth and rust
destroy.
3. Give because you want to share in reaching people for CHRIST.
4. Do not go into debt to give to “The Lord”. If you can’t afford to give, don’t
give beyond your tithe. We will NEVER accept credit cards for this reason.
How can a person be a cheerful giver going into debt? We would rather have
$2 from your pocket than $100 from your card that you might regret later.
Are we trying to make it hard on ourselves? No, we are trying to make it easy
on you. We need to raise a lot of money to duplicate what our mentors are
doing. Heartline Ministries has had great success where so many others have
failed. Our training is ongoing and we will be ready to set out in another
year. Our plan is to purchase a property on the same street as the two
existing homes. This will require around $200,000. We could circumnavigate
the globe looking for the one person who could write the check or we can do
what we have chosen to do and reach many people asking for the $5, $10
and $20 donations. Along the way, there will be people who want to give
greater amounts and that is well and good.
If you are thinking about giving a gift we ask only one thing; pray. Pray for our
ministry, our safety, and for the children we will help. If, after praying, you are
led in your heart to give, give from your heart knowing that the gift you give
will be honored and appreciated.
What We Believe
We help people by
what we do.
Perhaps we help
them more by what
we are. We prove
ourselves useful
when we give our
money. We are still
more useful when
we give ourselves.
And no man has
his whole self to
give, in all the
expansion of his
possibilities, until
he has aligned
himself with God.
