I am amazed that people doubt there is a GOD.  Things happen daily that
scream out about HIS greatness.  Not that I like it when things tend to be
over spiritualized but, now and again, things happen that you know can only
be divine intervention.

As most of you know by now, Bev was in the hospital with appendicitis.
Most of your first thoughts were if I was going to bring her back to the states
for the surgery.  I am pleased to say that Bev was in a wonderful facility and
she received better care there than she ever did in the hospital where we
live.  We are thankful for being in Haiti during this time as, financially, we
could not have afforded this operation in the states.

I was able to be with Bev in her room prior to the surgery.  Her surgery was
delayed for several hours and my plane was early.  I was also first off of the
plane which was almost empty.  I sit in the very back so I can lay down and
take a nap.  When the plane is that empty, they do not usually off-load from
the rear so I was settled that I would be last off of the plane but still through
customs before the luggage was on the carousel.  As it turned out, they off-
loaded from the rear, I was first through customs, my bags were two of the
first ten and my ride, John McHoul, was already there waiting.

We made a brief stop at John’s house to drop off the bags.  As I unloaded
the suit cases, I handed John a bag with Lobster Newberg (known to us
regular people as a Burger King double whopper with cheese - no onion
because only sinners eat onions) in it.  He devoured it like a dog eating a
boiled egg and then off we went to the hospital.

Bev was in good spirits when we arrived.  Surly it had something to do with
morphine and maybe a little to do with me being there (though, there are
some that will tell you that the morphine helps take the edges off when I am
around).  Bev was scheduled to be in surgery at 9:00am and around noon,
they took her in.  I had another opportunity to sleep so I jumped in her bed
for a 2 hour nap.  They wheeled Bev in after 2:00pm and she slept until 8:
00pm which just happened to be the exact time the visitors next to us had
all three of their cell phones go off at full volume playing some familiar old
rock and roll songs.  Bev found me in  chair hunched over on her bed.  She
invited me to climb in bed with her so I did and we dropped off to sleep until
5:30am at which time the wait began.  From 4:00pm Tuesday until 6:00pm
Bev had several visitors which did my heart some good.  They fed me and
prayed for us - it was special.

Up until this point, I have not seen the Doctor.  At around  11:00am the next
morning the Doctor showed and asked to see Bev alone.  After about 15
minutes, I was able to go in and the Doctor left.  Bev told me all about what
the Doctor told her.  GOD is amazing.  It seems that the Doctor had never
seen what he removed from Bev.  A normal appendix is about the size of
your pinky finger.  Bevs appendix was about 4 times longer than normal.
What, you may be asking, does that have too with GOD?  Well, the Doctor
told Bev if she had a normal appendix it would have burst and she would
have died almost instantly due to the amount of poison that would have
been dumped into her body.  He told her that due to the size of her
appendix, it held all of the poison long enough to save her life.  Bev was
discharged that day and she is doing rather well.  The influx of visitors is
overwhelming.  I have had to turn some away because she was sleeping.
As she awakens, I fetch them and they come for a nice visit.  Bev is loved in
Haiti!

We are constantly reminded every day in this ministry how we are
dependant on GOD.  Like money from a fishes mouth, GOD is always on
time.  Daily, we wonder how we will make it in these tight times where money
is scarce.  It is our nature to worry and, in the worry is our lack of faith.  If
we are to remain in Haiti, we will need to really lean on GOD for all of our
provisions.  “Give us this day our daily bread” is how we were instructed to
pray.  Daily!? Okay, daily.  It is only through prayer from friends and family
that we can continue.  That, added to our ever present need for GOD to
show up is what will keep us here.

Peace to you all and that you to all who wrote.

Chris
