Our email is overflowing!  What a great thing to happen!
There are so many good, caring people out there.  I wish I
could call you all but, there is just no way.

For more information on adoption go to
this link.  This is if you
want to adopt regardless and you are not interested in the
Pierre Pan option (which is not a viable plan) or you are just
interested in an abridged adoption process.

Please, we have no cost figures at this time.

I am reading ALL of your emails, I just have no time to respond
to them all.  I will send out more information soon.  As soon as
our database is compiled, I will send out an update. Please, be
patient and spread the word to friends and family.  Consider
supporting our Haiti feeding program.

Pierre Pan, the Cold Hard Reality - Sorry

UPDATE: We are NOT taking any more names for the Pierre Pan database.
We will forward the names to date to the Archdiocese of Miami.  It is
apparent to us that there is zero chance of this happening in light of recent
news of 10 people being held for trying to remove children from Haiti.  This
is no shock to us.  As I said before, it was a long shot at best.
THIS article
says it best.  Try not to be too hard on Haiti.  They, like most third world
countries (or dictator run countries) only believe their children are being
sold for different reasons.  One country even stopped adoptions from their
country to the USA because they said we kill them and sell their parts.  It is
just a sad epitaph to a corrupt world.
Let us all be honest, we all want to take some of these children out of Haiti. The reality is, this is a
long shot at best.  We are putting together a
PROSPECTIVE list of potential placements.  Some of
the requests inform us "we do not have money but will take a baby/child".  This is not being very
realistic.  There are going to be costs to be absorbed by you.  At the very least, you should have a
home study done or be foster parents in the system in the USA.  Then, you will need to consider
travel to wherever a child can be picked up - more money.  If I have not deterred you yet, I am not
trying hard enough.  On a good day it is difficult to adopt a Haitian baby so this is a
VERY LONG
SHOT
!  It may NEVER happen.  This is a dream of ours and there may be a small window where the
Haitian government may allow orphans out of the country without papers.  IF -
LET ME STRESS IF -
that happens, we are prepared to release names of people who are interested in adoption/tempoary
foster care.  If you are still interested, please fill out the form to the right.  Sorry to be so blunt.
Read the DHS U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services update LINK.  You
will find nothing (so far) about moving children out of Haiti UNLESS you
have started an adoption process.

Concerning children without papers. From DHS:
Other Orphaned or Separated Children
Given the severity of the disaster in Haiti, we understand that there are
additional children that have been orphaned and/or separated from
relatives and may also be in varying stages of the adoption process. DHS
and the U.S. Department of State continue to evaluate additional eligibility
criteria and will provide additional information as soon as it is available.

It appears the "International Social Services" is NOT behind the idea of
adoption of children during times of natural disasters.  Not sure if UNICEF is
but we have contacted them to find out.

Please, let us know if you are in any phase of an adoption process i.e.
home study completed, approved for adoption, approved for international
adoption...  The further along in progress you are or, let me state it another
way, the better prepared you are, the better your chances. Not sure if being
approved for foster care is sufficient but it sure cannot hurt.  Either way, if
you are interested, leave your info in the comments section.

If you have not started the adoption process, the first thing you should
consider is a home study.  Not sure if you can get it for free but if you
mention why you are having the study done - who knows.  Expect to pay
around $1,000.  You can check the yellow pages for an adoption agency in
your area.  They need to know the foreign adoption process.  You can
search the internet as well.  I would NOT recommend an attorney - just me.
Apparently it is not just me as someone just emailed me and said they lost
$25,000 with an attorney and they came away childless.

Understand, we are giving you direction only.  Any money you spend to
become qualified or to update your home study is up to you.  In the event
this pipe dream does not come to pass, you should understand that we are
not liable for monies spent by you.

Please, add marital status (the Haitian government may want to know), and
your state of residence.  It would be helpful to know if you have the ability to
travel to a foreign country i.e. passport, funds for travel, capacity to raise a
child.  HaitisBabies does not care a bit.  Be vague but honest. This info is
for processing only and will never be shared with agencies other than
agencies trying to secure children.  There may be further
processing/information required if this thing becomes real.
Please, let us
know if you want to adopt in the event there is no Pierre Pan
movement.  If this is the case, we need to know to add you to a
separate database.  Add to comments section. Better yet, go to this
LINK.

I read ALL of your emails but I am too busy to respond to all Haiti adoption
requests.  If you fill out the form above, your name will be added to the
database and if there is any news, you will be the first to know about Haiti
orphan adoption via Pierre Pan.

Some good news.  I received an email from the Joint Council of International
Children's Services and I added it below.

Dear Chris,

We have added you to our database and will be sure to contact you as
soon as information becomes available.

Thank you for your kindness.
